Sabir Rassiwalla joined CRG in 2021 and serves as a Director. Mr. Rassiwalla brings to CRG 20 years of investing, company building and transaction experience in the life science arena. He is responsible for sourcing, diligence, execution, and portfolio management across healthcare with a particular focus on medical devices and surrounding ecosystem.
Prior to joining CRG, Mr. Rassiwalla spent 8 years at Abbott Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Abbott Laboratories, where he focused on strategic equity investments, acquisitions, and company formation efforts. He was actively involved on portfolio company boards as well as in business strategy and operations across Abbott’s medical device franchises.
Earlier in his career, he was a member of Domain Associates, a leading healthcare venture capital fund, and a member of the transactions team at Onyx Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Rassiwalla was also co-founder of a clinical research organization focused on emerging markets where he held business development and operational roles. Mr. Rassiwalla received a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from INSEAD.
